Art therapy isn't about making beautiful things. It's about making honest ones.
When we sit down with paint, or collage, or even just a pencil and let the hand move without judging what appears — something shifts. The body relaxes its grip on what we've been holding. The mind gets a little room to breathe.
Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process as a way to explore emotion, process experience, and support mental health. You don't need to be an artist. You don't need to make anything gallery-worthy. You just need to show up and let something emerge.
At Mad Girl Art, this is the heart of everything we make and teach. Art isn't separate from healing — for many of us, it is the healing.
If you're curious about starting your own creative wellbeing practice, stay tuned. Our first course — The Creative Self: Art Therapy & Mindful Living — is coming soon.
